Tiles aren’t always the same
Traditional patchwork is a whole range of colors, and it’s no different with tiles. They are so diverse that they will work with nearly any decor. They differ from each other in the material they are made from. They are also available in many shapes; there are those that have the form of traditional rectangles or squares, but more modern shapes like hexagons are also popular.
Depending on the bathroom design style and the colors we would like to dominate in it, we can look at multicolored patchworks, or those that use two or three colors only. The pattern on the tiles is also important. There can be a floral, geometric or rug-like motif on them. You can also find a checkered patchwork pattern. With so many options, this type of tiles can be matched to literally any interior. What are their other advantages?

Patchwork tiles - their biggest advantages?
Most often, the main reason why investors opt for patchwork tiles is their unconventional appearance. They look much more interesting than regular unicolor tiles. Choosing them, you can be sure they will be a bathroom decoration and a head turner. While this is important, interesting bathroom design is not the only reason why this option is worth considering.
Being ceramic tiles, they have all the qualities that traditional tiles have. This means that they are easy to clean, require no special maintenance and do not react with water. This makes them an investment that will last for years. The advantage of patterns on them is that any stains and marks aren’t very visible, so even if the household members don’t wipe them for several days, they won’t strike the eye.
Where to put patchwork tiles?
The truth is that they can be used literally anywhere. Patchwork tiles can be placed on the whole surface of the floor, or only on some parts - in an interesting way separating usable zones. A captivating effect can be achieved when the floor tiles have their extension on the wall. In this case it’s worth putting patchwork tiles where the shower unit will be - a walk-in enclosure, for example, will look splendid this way. This solution will also be perfect around the washbasin. The rule is that such an expressive finishing material as patchwork shouldn’t be placed in the whole bathroom, we should put it in those places we want to expose. Even if there are other decorations in the bathroom, the expressiveness of patchwork tiles will make them play the first fiddle.
What design style do patchwork tiles go well with?
To be able to talk about a beautiful decor, it must be carefully thought out in every respect. Depending on the design style of our interior, different colors, materials and patterns should be chosen. The design of the shower unit, bathtub, bath screen and washbasin will also be different. A bathroom with patchwork tiles actually means very different arrangements. They are different not only in terms of the colors used. They also have different atmosphere and design style. This raises the question of what styles they will go well with. The good news is that the multitude of patchwork patterns makes it possible to use them in many decors. They can complement traditional, rustic or eclectic interiors. At the same time, they are a great choice for bathrooms decorated in Scandinavian and contemporary styles. Whether the tiles will suit the bathroom and the decor amaze, depends on what else is present in the interior.
For example, for Scandinavian style interiors we could think of including black and white tiles with geometric patterns. Subdued patterns, such as white, black and gray, look great in retro arrangements. They can also be used in French or English styles. On the other hand, if the investor is thinking about Moroccan style and wants to connote the seaside atmosphere, it’s worth opting for tiles where white combines with shades of blue.
Well-matched patchwork tiles can complement the design of an industrial bathroom. This style distinguishes a certain severity of form. Some people refer to it as cold, but there are ways to bring some warmth to it. Patchwork is one example. Although it may have the color of concrete, the perception of such a wall or floor will be completely different.

What do patchwork tiles look good with?
Patchwork tiles look amazing, but they are also very demanding. Thus, they are sometimes perceived as problematic. Meanwhile, all we need to do is stick to the basic rules in order to obtain a stunning interior. First of all, such expressive patterns don’t like competition. They have to be in the foreground, and nothing else. They look best when combined with subdued colors and a background in one shade. They are recommended in combination with black, white and shades of gray, so it’s better to be careful with stronger colors. Otherwise it’s not only difficult to bring out all the beauty of the patchwork, but we can easily overdo it and the interior could become overwhelming.
Accessories are important in every decor. Here they will also be of great importance. They should harmonize stylistically with the entire decor, and because of the rich pattern of patchwork tiles, it is better to limit ourselves to unicolor accessories. Such accessories go well with glass, wood, plastic and metal.
As we can see, we shouldn’t be afraid of patchwork. There is a lot of potential in them. They let us create a stunning and unique interior nobody else will have. Once we know what we can compose them with and what we should avoid, there will be no problem with creating a coherent decor.
