Laundry hamper and what to use instead of it?

Where to put the laundry hamper?
First of all, the laundry hamper must be located in the same room as the washer. This comes from ergonomic principles. Loading the washing machine is much easier and faster when the laundry is somewhere nearby. It can be a free-standing hamper, in which case we should focus on one that will stylistically match the arrangement. But this doesn’t mean that it always has to be on display. A good option would be a laundry hamper for a wardrobe or cabinet. Likewise, it can also be located under the sink, for example. Usually, this is the place where we store our beauty products, but if there is more space, the hamper can be placed there as well.
The laundry hamper cabinet can be placed above the washing machine, which will also be convenient. By opting for this solution, we don’t lose any space in the bathroom since vertical installation allows us to fit more. In this case, perhaps in addition to the hamper, there will also be some space for laundry detergents.
What instead of a laundry hamper? Where can we keep our dirty wash?
A free-standing hamper is still the most common choice. It can vary in material, size and color. The hamper can have wheels, be made of wire or wicker. Quite an interesting option gaining in popularity is the laundry bag. It will fit anywhere, is easy to refresh and can have any color. If the household members decide to place the hamper inside the cabinet, they don’t need to buy a traditional standing model at all. A much more convenient solution will be a built-in laundry hamper. This is a tilt-out hamper, which is ordered together with the cabinet. It is attached to it and always customized. For example, it may be shallower than a traditional hamper, which is important in narrow bathrooms. It’s easy to open and close and convenient to use.
Instead of a tilt-out hamper, we can also opt for a pull-out basket. This solution is rarely used in bathrooms, but it’s very ergonomic. The built-in laundry basket in this version may be of any size. What’s more, the pull-out mechanism allows us to use one larger basket or several smaller ones, which will allow us to sort our laundry on the spot.

What to look at when choosing a laundry hamper?
The choice is always based on the needs of the household members. The most important criterion will therefore be the size. A hamper for two people doesn’t have to be as large as one for a family consisting of many members and small children, who generate way more wash.
The second matter to look at is the size of the bathroom. We need to make maximum use of the available space. For example, if there’s a recess in our bathroom, but it’s too small to install a shower in it, then we can opt for a built-in cabinet. This is the perfect place for a laundry hamper cabinet.
A built-in hamper, just like a free-standing hamper, is purchased with the perspective of at least several years of use. This means that it’s better to focus on high-quality products from the outset. The hamper must be resistant to moisture and we should be able to keep it clean easily. A laundry hamper cabinet should match the overall decor, and the same refers to a free-standing hamper. In traditional interiors or those that refer to nature, what will look great are hampers made of wicker or wood (provided that they are protected against water). In industrial interiors, on the other hand, wire hampers will look amazing.
